About the Book:

Riley’s finding that the afterlife can be a lonely place when all you do is focus on work. So she goes to the place where dreams happen, hoping to find a way to contact her sister, Ever. She meets the director, who tells her about the two ways to send dreams. As a Dream Jumper, a person can jump into a dreamer’s dream, share a message, and participate. As a Dreamweaver, an entire dream can be created in a studio and sent to the dreamer. But Dreamweaving was outlawed decades ago, and the studio was boarded up. Thinking it’s her only way to reach out to her sister, Riley goes in search of the old studio. There she finds a ghost boy, who’s been creating and sending nightmares to people for years. In order to stop him and reach out to Ever, Riley is going to have to confront and overcome her own fears.

Check out our exclusive interview with the Author!

1) This would make a great film. Any talks of turning your book into a movie?

I’m thrilled to announce that Summit Entertainment, (the studio behind the Twilight films), recently optioned the dramatic rights to both The Immortals and Riley Bloom series, so my fingers are crossed that they’re able to bring the books to the big or small screen!

2) Who’s your favorite character in the book and why? Who was the most fun to write?

Aside from Riley who’s always fun to write, I really enjoyed writing Balthazar. He’s dramatic, flamboyant, takes his craft very seriously, and can sometimes be abrupt and a little intimidating—but he’s also hugely intelligent with a very kind heart—I would love to know him in real life!

3) If you could have one super power what would it be?

Instant manifestation would be amazing! You could shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, cure disease . . .you could truly transform the world!

4) Is it hard to keep writing books with the same character? Or easy because you’ve come to know her so well by now?

The great thing about Riley is that her being dead means she has no boundaries of any kind and no real restrictions other than those that the Council and Bodhi place on her. She can travel to any corner of the world to deal with a ghost from any time in history, which allows for endless storytelling possibilities!

5) What's up next for you?

In the Riley Bloom series, WHISPER will release on 04.24.12, followed by two more, as of yet untitled, books in the series. And my new YA series, Soul Seekers, is set to debut with the first book, FATED, in May 2012, to be followed by ECHO, MYSTIC, & HORIZON in 2012/13!
