About the Book:
Becoming a werewolf is not an option for seventeen-year-old Lacey Quinn, but death can be a strong motivator.
Lacey is so focused on her future, that everyday life has past her by. Counting down the days to her eighteenth birthday, she's almost home free. But when she falls for the mysterious Alex Morris, she lands in the middle of an ancient war between two enemy wolf packs. Tempting dreams, tantalizing lies and a dangerous love triangle ensues, leaving Lacey heartbroken and confused.
Lacey’s fate rests in the hands of Alex and Brandon, but both are pulling her strings for their own agendas. Even as she slips further into the dark world of werewolves, Lacey struggles to find the truth and save the only family she’s ever known.

1) Who’s your favorite character in the book and why? Who was the most fun to write?
My favorite character has to be Lacey. She is such an interesting character because of the situation she’s been put into. Lacey is trying so hard to connect with her family, but she just seems to be missing something. It is a difficult situation- especially for a teenager! I couldn’t imagine being in her shoes and having, not only the drama going on at home, but also having these two gorgeous boys pursuing her.
My favorite character to write has to be Lily. She is such an untapped, unknown in this story. She knows more than she’s willing to give and she’s such a little trouble maker.
2) If you could have one super power, what would it be?
I’m not sure it’s a super power, but considering I’m a huge fantasy fan, I’d love to be able to shape shift. I’d love to be able to turn into a cat or a butterfly at a moments notice and roam the earth. That would be the ultimate talent. Eventually, I will write a story about that.
3) When you set out to write a book, are you usually sparked by a story idea or a character?
Both actually! I have been places and met people that have amazing spirit and personality and just thought they needed to be written down somewhere. Then there are other times that I have dreams about events and it morphs into a story. But, I tend to love stories that focus on character development, so in my stories I strive to build that connection to the real world and to the characters.
4) If there was one thing about Lacey’s life that you’d like to have in your own life, what would it be? What about the one thing about her life that you’d never want to have?
This is such a hard question! In a way, I’d love to have the idea of having one perfect person for the rest of my life and there being no question, however, one of Lacey’s main character flaws is her confusion and disbelief in the grander scheme of things. So- I’d love to have her soul mate, but wouldn’t want to be confused over it!
5) What’s up next for you?
The sequel to The Crescent is currently in process. Half Moon will continue the stories of Lacey, Brandon and Alex into the next phase of Lacey’s transformation into a werewolf. It is due to release through Black Rose Writing in January 2011. More information on my other works in progress can be found on my website.
About the Author:
Jordan Deen grew up in a small town about 45 minutes outside of East St. Louis, Illinois. Her imagination ignited, along with her family home, when she was seven. Ever since then, she's written poems, short stories and songs. Her debut novel, The Crescent, is the seventh novel she's penned. Ironically, seven is her lucky number.
